Next courses: Sunday, January 10 and Saturday, January 23

Course goals: This six-hour course will show participants how to use the tools at the engineer’s disposal to make the mix sound professional. This course will focus mostly on using the tools, but brief introductions to the tools will also be given.

We will discuss equalization, compression and effects such as reverbs and delays. We will address the best ways to route these tools and how to use them cohesively.

All the different types of EQ, compression, reverbs and delays will also be discussed and demonstrated.

We will address questions such as:

– How is the bandwidth on an EQ useful?
– When to cut and when to boost EQ
